The Adobe Express Mobile App for iOS Is Powered by Firefly AI

Adobe Express Mobile App Exits Beta with AI Tools for iOS

The Adobe Express mobile app has now exited its testing phase. iOS Creative Cloud users can access the design tools with AI-generated elements from Firefly.

Adobe Express is a simple design tool from the creative suite that allows users to quickly create flyers, posters, and documents without much effort.

New Features in the Mobile App

On April 18th, the new Adobe Express mobile app left beta and became available for iOS. This update includes Adobe’s integration of Adobe Firefly, its general AI tool.

Adobe’s AI elements have been available on the web since August 2023. This update now extends their availability to the mobile app.

Text-to-Image and Text-to-Template Tools

The Text-to-Image tool can generate new visuals for projects based on prompts. Similarly, Text-to-Template allows users to create prompts that are converted into fully editable templates.

Image and Video Editing Updates

Image editing updates include Generative Fill to insert, remove, or replace elements in an image, using Firefly to generate or mask image parts. Quick actions are available to edit, resize, remove backgrounds from images and videos, or even trim videos with one click.

Videos also benefit from templates that combine clips with images, music, and animations. Real-time captions are available in over 100 languages.

Video editing options include timeline editing, layer trimming, and support for 4K video footage.

Content Scheduling and Publishing

After creating images and videos, Adobe Express includes a content scheduling tool to preview and publish creative works to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and more.

Adobe’s use of Firefly for AI-generated images is the latest effort to make the creative suite easier to use. In February, Adobe introduced a “purpose-built” Firefly AI version for Apple Vision Pro.

The Adobe Express iPhone app also helps Adobe compete with rival design tool Canva, which acquired the design and photo tool maker Affinity in March.
